Our travel diary of the Argentine  Patagonia:                       

"The Carved Forest " in El Bolsón , Río Negro was amazing! There were many statues carved in the wood of burnt trees.

The idea of the carved forest was born in the late 90's when  the sculptor Marcelo Lopez  thought it would be something special to give life to some of the trunks burned in a fire in 1978. One of them caught  our attention, a big, reclining dwarf . Another was the one of a child coming out from a trunk of a tree. It was very impressive. This human - made  forest was full of life!

We were in the Cerro Catedral in Río Negro  for a day. It was snowy and the mountains were icy. We went to the ski slope by chair lift. It was very cold but the scenery was dazzling! We practiced skiing but there was a snow storm. So in the afternoon we were back in our warm hotel rooms again.

The Myrtle Forest  in Neuquén was awesome! It was full of trees with  trunks of reddish colors. There was a  cottage made of reddish trunks that is a tea house.  It was rainy, so we entered the cottage  and had a delicious hot chocolate. Soon it was sunny and we were outside again. Walking through this  forest made by nature was fabulous!

Chubut  was fun! Chubut‘s  beaches were beautiful with  fine white sand. The weather  was perfect. There were  colonies of penguins and sea  lions on the beach of Puerto Madryn  and we took a lot of pictures. Later, we were on a whale watching tour in the Valdés Peninsula. It was a bit windy but  it was really fascinating!

Trevelin was incredible!  It was like being in Wales. 
Welsh settlers founded Trevelin in 1885 in the province of Chubut. The name of the town was taken from Welsh words  " Tre "people and "Velin": mill.


 We went to a tea house that had a museum dedicated to Martin Underwood who was one of the first Welsh settlers in Chubut.  There we tasted the delicious tea and Welsh cake. 

 On the 28th of july, we were in  the "Gŵyl y Glaniad" The Festival of the First Landing of the first  Welsh settlers in Chubut. We stayed for the Welsh music concert of the festival. Listening to Welsh music was a total discovery!
The next day we went  on a tour to Nant & Fall falls, a fabulous place! We spent the whole day there. Watching the sunset at Nant and Fall falls was  unforgettable! 

Visiting  Argentine Patagonia was an unforgettable experience! We want to come back!
