In the thirties, working as a journalist Ladislao
became tired of fountain pens and ink stains so he_______ (begin )to think

and Juan Meyne founded the company Biro Pens of Argentina in a garage, with little money and 40 employees.
They perfected the invention of the ballpoint, which went on the market with
the name of "birome" (acronym of Biro and Meyre). The invention
became very popular and since then has changed the way we write and sold billions of ballpoint pens
worldwide.
Ladislao Birò is one of the most
brilliant inventors of Argentina. He registered the patents of 30 inventions during his life,
including a washing machine, an automatic mechanical gearbox,the ballpoint, a
clinical thermograph, a device for obtaining energy from the waves of the sea
and an inviolable lock and others.
