FUTURE TENSE (explicado en español)

Hay dos formas de expresar el futuro:

*Con el verbo semimodal:

 

Se usa cuando existe un plan previo

o una intención y el resultado es muy probable.
(Present Continuous)
                               

  to be + going to 
 I am going to cook  pasta for dinner.
Yo voy a cocinar   pasta para la cena.

(entonces es muy probable que comamos pasta para la cena)

*Con el verbo modal:

WILL es siempre seguido por el infinitivo. 

Se usa  para predecir  y hablar sobre:
hechos  que se darán en el futuro.

También para hablar de decisiones que se toman
en el momento y dar opiniones personales.

                                                  Will +infinitive

Next year, The Iguazu falls will become a World Heritage Site.

El próximo año , las cataratas del Iguazú se convertirán
 en Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad.

*También se puede usar Shall ,aunque es menos usado que will . Shall se usa solo con los pronombres I y We. 

* Will / Will not 

 se pueden abreviar 
con el uso del apóstrofe 
Will = 'll
Will not = Won't 




GOING TO se forma con:

el presente continuo del verbo to go + infinitivo

GOING TO  
Expresa la intención del sujeto de llevar a cabo una acción en el futuro.
 Esta intención implica un plan previo  y que se ha llevado a cabo alguna preparación.



     

Anne  is going to buy a new car. (She saved the money for a year )

Anne va  a comprar un nuevo auto. (Ella ahorró por un año)

*esto significa que Anne ahorró primero y después va a comprar el auto.

                                                                

I bought the tickets this morning.
Yo compré las entradas esta mañana.

 I am going to meet Anne  at the theatre.

Yo voy a encontrarme con Anne  en el teatro.

*eso significa que primero compré las entradas para el teatro y luego me voy a encontrar con Anne allí.

GOING TO  también se puede usar  cuando deseamos dar énfasis a la intención.

 Gloria  is going to be a Veterinarian  when she grows up.

   Gloria  va a ser veterinaria  cuando crezca.

Are you going to speak in English?

  ¿Vas tú a hablar en inglés?

 She is not going to write the letter.

Ella no va  a escribir la carta.

 What are you going to do when you finish university?

   ¿Qué vas a hacer Tú cuando termines la universidad?

El futuro Simple se forma con:
 el verbo modal WILL + infintivo

Se usa para:

Hacer predicciones y hablar sobre hechos que sucederán
 en el futuro.

      WILL + infinitivo

Bariloche  will   be    the next host of the WINE FAIR.
Bariloche  será la próxima sede de la FERIA DE VINO.

 By the year 2050,the world's population will be 7 billion. 

Para el año 2050, la población del mundo será 7 billones.

  

El futuro simple también se usa :    

Para decisiones que se toman en el momento y para dar opiniones personales.  

                                                                                         Will + infinitivo
 Oh! We need more milk for the cake, I  will   go 

to the shop.                                            

Necesitamos más leche para  la torta.Yo iré a la tienda.
(es una decisión que tomé en el momento)

The film " As good as it gets " is on screen. 

 La película "As good as it gets" está en cartelera.  

                       Will +infinitive

I think   you  will     like     it.

Yo pienso que te gustará.

(Es una opinión personal pero no es seguro que la película le gustará a la otra persona)

                       

           

 What  do you think?

 ¿Qué Piensas?

     Will + infinitive

   will  It rain on Wednesday?        

  ¿Lloverá el Miércoles?

*el hablante está pidiendo una opinión personal.   

* Para hacer un  Ofrecimiento.  

 The phone is ringing.

             Will + infinitive

  I    will  answer it.

Yo lo contestaré.

   Can somebody give me a hand?

      I will.

*  Para hacer Promesas.  

    

      Will + infinitive

I    will  stop smoking.

Yo dejaré de fumar.

* Para hacer Peticiones o dar  órdenes.  

   

       Will + infinitive

   Will you follow me, please?

   ¿Me seguirás , por favor?

 EJEMPLO  DE VERBO CONJUGADO EN FUTURO

TO BE = ser / estar

EL AFIRMATIVO                                                    

I will be = Yo seré/estaré          

You will  be = Tú serás /estarás    

He/She/He will be = Él  será /estará             

We will be = Nosotros   seremos /estaremos

They wll be  = Ellos  serán /estarán

        

Albert will be forty next week.

Albert cumplirá 40 la próxima semana.

*El verbo To be también se usa para la edad se una persona pero no se traduce como Ser /Estar.

Next month, we will be on the beach.

La próxima semana estaremos en la playa.

 

EL INTERROGATIVO

Se forma con:  Will+SUJETO+INFINITIVO

Will I be?

Will You be?

Will He/She/It be?

Will We be?

Will They be?

EL NEGATIVO

 Se forma con:  Will+NOT+INFINITIVO
*Will not se puede abreviar 
con el uso de apóstrofe 
Will not = won't 

  I will not be  

 You will not be
  He/She/It will not be
 We will not be

 They will not be
